Job Title: Grave Digger Subcontractor

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Grave Digger Subcontractor to join our team. As a Grave Digger Subcontractor, you will be responsible for digging graves to specified dimensions and depths at cemeteries or burial sites. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively in a sensitive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Dig graves to the required dimensions and depths, ensuring compliance with cemetery regulations and burial plot specifications.
• Use excavators and other machinery to dig graves
• Ensure the careful and respectful handling of human remains, caskets, and burial vaults during the digging process.
• Work closely with funeral directors, cemetery staff, and other subcontractors to coordinate burial arrangements and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries while working in excavation sites.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition, performing routine maintenance and reporting any issues or malfunctions promptly.
• Complete paperwork and documentation accurately, including recording burial site dimensions, depths, and other relevant information.
• Work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and accommodate the needs of grieving families and funeral services.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of excavated materials and debris.
• Represent the company in a positive and professional manner, adhering to ethical standards and demonstrating sensitivity and empathy towards grieving families and loved ones.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a grave digger or similar role is preferred.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and make decisions in accordance with established procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measuring and excavating burial sites to specified dimensions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and compassionately with grieving families and funeral service professionals.
• Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling practices.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various cemetery locations.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate funeral schedules and burial arrangements.
