ABOUT THE JOB
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated Summer Camp Inclusion Leaders for our various Summer Camps including programs for school-aged children and youth which run from July 2nd – August 30th, 2024.
ABOUT YOU
You are a team player committed to community. You are courteous and effective with the public and enjoy working with a diverse group of people. As a Summer Camp Inclusion Leader, you are responsible for integrating children who have disabilities or other support considerations in full-day camp programsand providing one-to-one assistance when required. Our Summer Camp Inclusion Leaders report directly to the Recreation Programmer II of Access Services, and works cooperatively with children, their parents, other Summer Camp leaders, facility staff and volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Previous camp experience and/or experience working with groups of children in an organized activity
  • Experience supporting children and youth who have disabilities or other support considerations
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • Preferred candidates will be available Monday to Friday for the duration of the summer
  • Successful applicants must be available for paid training June 22nd and 23rd 2024
  • Candidates will be required to provide occasional support in pools and other aquatic environments

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working with children and youth who have disabilities or other support needs and/or considerations, such as behaviour support, etc. Applicants may also be considered for Summer Camp Leader - Playground Leader I positions.
Shifts for this unionized position are typically from Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., but may vary depending on program requirements. The pay for this auxiliary position is $23.19 plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. All candidates must be prepared to work at any of our locations. This includes outdoor locations, and must be comfortable swimming or going into swimming pools.
