Here is an opportunity to join a dynamic team who come together each summer to provide memorable, meaningful, and fun camp experiences for guests with intellectual disabilities.

Owned and operated by Community Living Toronto, Shadow Lake is a bustling summer home-away-from-home for over 500 guests with special needs and over 80 staff members.

We are seeking Overnight Awake staff for Summer 2024 camps.

As an Overnight Awake Staff, you work in a team to ensure safety and rest during the night. Overnight Awake Staff are responsible for:

· Hygiene care,

· Ensuring healthcare needs,

· Documenting incidents before shift end

· Filling out overnight logs,

· Using positive behavior management strategies during the night,

· Communicating to supervisors and counsellors about night events.

· Following all Community Living Toronto policies and Shadow Lake Centre Policies

· Attending all staff trainings and meetings.

Experience in working with people with disabilities is beneficial but not required. We provide skill-building and training opportunities and are always looking for enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated staff.

Prior to the first day of camp, all staff participate in a week-long training program, and on-line orientation. Everyone is required to obtain a police check prior to starting work.

Candidates must pass a medical and be free of contagious disease in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and maintain appropriate immunizations.

Each year Community Living Toronto supports over 4,000 individuals and their families in over 80 locations across Toronto. For over 50 years, Community Living Toronto’s Shadow Lake Camp has provided even greater opportunities to live the organization’s commitment to fostering inclusive communities through a camping experience tailored to ensure individuals with intellectual disabilities enjoy a Canadian summer tradition.
