Position: Day Camp Counsellor
Employment Details: Full-time (35 hours per week), temporary (June 24 – August 30, 2024), pending funding approval
Rate of Pay: $16.00/hr
Requirements: Cover Letter and Resume, minimum of three references, RNC Certificate of Conduct/Vulnerable Sector Check (required before commencing employment)

Summary of Position:
The Day Camp Counsellor will be responsible for assisting the Day Camp Leader in planning and facilitating games, crafts and other indoor and outdoor activities for camper groups at our Summer Day Camp. The Day Camp Counsellor will support campers with participating in activities, including campers who may have extra needs. As a member of the Summer Camp program, the Day Camp Counsellor will interact with children between the ages of 5 and 13. You are responsible for the supervision, health and safety of campers at all times. This position will involve working outdoors in all types of weather.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help facilitate games, activities and interactive demonstrations
- Participate in and lead outdoor activities in all types of weather
- Work as a member of a collaborative team
- Help campers participate in activities and support those with extra needs
- Maintain a safe and respectful camp environment
- Communicate with parents or guardians as necessary
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children
- Experience working as part of a team
- Experience teaching or leading group activities
- Training in the sciences, heritage, and/or environmental conservation considered an asset
- Team-focused and enjoys communicating with children and adults
