Position Title: Summer StudentData Analytics Consultant 

Team and Location: Digital – Remote

Position Summary: 

The Data Analytics Consultant- Summer Student is responsible for providing exceptional support to our Digital team of Parkland, for a 4-month term. As a member of the Digital team, you will assist with the day-to-day activities that includes data analysis, reporting and assisting in strategic decision-making process. The Summer Student will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of our key performance indicators across a series of digital products, as well as other related tasks as necessary.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data from various sources such as Journie Rewards web. Journie Rewards Mobile App and marketing campaigns.  
  • Partner closely with our product development team to craft analytics technical specs essential to crucial for aligning on the data collection strategy for our digital experiences. 
  • Utilize analytics tools such as Google Analytics to gather insights into user behaviour and engagement, traffic patterns and campaign performance.  
  • Generate data dashboards to track key performance indicators related to digital product performance. 
  • Visualize data in a clear and concise manner to communicate insights effectively. 
  • Collaborate with other teams such as Marketing, Loyalty and Electric Vehicle to align on digital analytics efforts with organizational goals and priorities. 
  • Summarize findings and provide recommendations based on data analysis to stakeholders. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • You are available for a 4-month term beginning on or around May 2nd, 2024 
  • You are currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution working towards a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Business Analytics or Data Science; candidate must be in the 2nd or 3rd year of their program or enrolled in the Information Technology program at a technical institute; Candidate has completed the 1st year of their program.   
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities. 
  • You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a challenging and exciting work environment 
  • You have strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • You have an innate curiosity and passion for exploring and uncovering insights with data. 
  • You have a natural inclination towards asking questions, investigating trends, and seeking out solutions. 
  • You have experience with some web analytics platforms for tracking and analyzing data like Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics. 
  • You are familiar with database management systems for storing, retrieving and manipulating data and have experience using SQL or MySQL.  
  • You are a creative and analytical thinker with some project management skills who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment 
  • You have tenacity and an entrepreneurial spirit, and are passionate about seeking out win-win solutions 
  • You will be part of a global team and must be able to work effectively through a high degree of collaboration and communication through in-person meetings and video conferences.
