The City of Kenora is looking for students for summer employment! Working with our Facilities team, this position will assist with a variety of facility related projects including participation in construction project inspections and meetings, data entry and collection for projects, assisting with procurement tasks, and assisting with the coordination of designers and contractors. Additionally, this position will assist with facility inspections and maintenance planning as required.

Qualifications:

• Must be a full-time student in the 2023-24 school year at a secondary or post-secondary education institution and be returning to school full-time for the 2024-25 school season
• Candidates enrolled in a post-secondary program in Architecture, Building Science, or Engineering (structural, electrical, or mechanical) or a related field
• Must be available to attend and complete mandatory safety training and orientation
• Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of climate conditions
• Comfortable using and learning a variety of computer applications and programs
• Knowledge or experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software would be an asset
• Possess good communication skills with ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent customer service skills & interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with the public with tact and diplomacy
• Possess a valid driver’s license (minimum G2) in good standing is required

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Rate: $18.13/hr

Students will be required to provide a clean driver’s abstract, and proof of enrolment if successful in a summer position with the City of Kenora.
