Reporting to: Forestry Crew Lead
Summary of Duties:
The Summer Students will work alongside our forestry crews in various positions, gaining experience in forestry practices such as tree planting, chainsaw & brush saw operating, fuel management, and firefighting.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
- Perform daily forestry tasks like tree planting, brush sawing, managing fuel, and supporting firefighting efforts.
- Follow the instruction and safe work procedures.
- Be accountable and flexible.
- Remain respectful and safe.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
- Physically fit.
- Driver’s License is an asset but not required.
- First Aid Level 1 is an asset but not required.
- Hardworking, positive attitude, willing to take initiative.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to travel as required for the position.
- Motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.
