Summer Student - Logistics

The City of Kenora is looking for students for summer employment! This position will support the coordination and delivery of summer events. This includes event set up and take down functions, general presentation and flow of the event space during the event, and providing on site customer/vendor support.

Qualifications:

• Must be a full-time student in the 2023-24 school year at a secondary or post-secondary education institution and be returning to school full-time for the 2024-25 school season
• Good knowledge and appreciation of the City of Kenora, specifically its history, attractions, events, and accommodations
• Must be available to attend and complete mandatory safety training and orientation
• Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft applications
• Possess good communication skills with ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with the public with tact and diplomacy
• Possess a valid driver’s license (minimum G2) in good standing is required
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Valid standard First Aid or AED training would be an asset

Hours: 28-40 hours per week based on event scheduling. Including weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.

Rate: $18.13/hr

Students will be required to provide the City with a drivers abstract, and proof of enrolment if successful in a summer position with the City of Kenora.
