Positions include:
- Primary English Tutor (JK to Grade 3)
- Junior/Intermediate English and Math (Grade 4 to Grade 8)
- High School English (Grade 7 to Grade 12)
- High School Math (Grade 7 to Grade 12)

We provide supplemental education for children ages 4 to 18. We provide our own curriculum for reading, writing, math, French and study skills! Our tutors teach in 3:1 groups, provide direct instruction from our material provided and must work on cognitive, attitude and behavioural goals with our students: we are not only teaching children academic skills but we are teaching them how to be better students!
Oxford Learning St.Catharines is looking for University students who have the following:
- Strong English language skills; both written and verbal
- Experience working with children and youth
- Interest in teaching or pursuing a career related to children, education, or psychology
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment, multitask and think on your feet
- An upbeat, enthusiastic and vibrant personality
- Possess strong passion for teaching and working with kids
- Be a quick learner
- Interest in improving your teaching repertoire and professional development
Required:
- Must have completed 1 year of University or College
- Impeccable spelling and grammar
- Must be comfortable teaching Ontario English curriculum up to Grade 6.
- Provide resume and cover letter for best chance of receiving an interview
About the position:
- Intensive training is provided including observation, team teaching, online training modules, readings and monthly evaluations.
- Part-time position: after school hours only. Mondays and Wednesday evenings OR Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Saturday classes may be required in May and June.
- Please note: All tutors are required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screen, References and complete a competency test before being hired.
- Hourly rate starts at $17.00/hour (after training and probation period)
