Sunfest & Laketown Shakedown: Security Guards & Event Staff

Laketown Ranch is a one of a kind festival venue that is located on a beautiful 250-acre site near the shores of Lake Cowichan, Vancouver Island, and is the proud host for:

Laketown Shakedown ~ June 27 - 30, 2024

Sunfest ~ July 31 - August 5, 2024`

Candidates can choose to work either one of these events individually, or they can opt into working both.

JTF Security is now accepting applications for;

• Security Guards - with a Valid BC Security Workers License
• Event Staff - no security license required

The roles and responsibilities of Security Guards may include (but are not limited to):

• Gate access - festival grounds
• Mobile patrol - campground
• Foot patrol - festival grounds
• Static positions - festival grounds
• Asset protection

The roles and responsibilities of Event Staff (unlicensed) may include (but are not limited to):

• Gate and bar access (wristband and baggage checks, etc)
• Asset protection (monitoring areas where festival equipment is stored during non-operational hours, etc)

Some considerations...

• These are multi-day events - Laketown Shakedown and Sunfest provides campsite accommodations for out-of-town workers. Workers are responsible for bringing their own camping equipment, such as tents, sleeping bags/blankets, etc.
• Workers must be able to stand or walk for the entirety of their shift.
• All workers must be able to transport themselves to and from the event location. Parking for staff vehicles will be available on-site.
• Food vouchers/meals will be provided while on shift. Workers will need to supply their own food for the rest of the day.
• Must be 19+ years of age

In addition to Laketown Ranch events, JTF Security provides services to a wide variety of specialized events on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland throughout the year. This includes concerts, festivals, sporting events, and other specialized events. Candidates will receive opportunities to work these additional events if they meet the qualifications (example: some events may only require licensed guards, some may not provide campsite accommodations so staff would need be local to the area, etc...)

Salary: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
