Job Summary
This position is for a full-time Ministry licensed childcare center that will cater to children between the ages of 18 months to 4 years old. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the child care center under the supervision of the directors. Day to day operation includes program planning, working effectively with staff, working with families and children, connecting with the community, mentoring students, and various administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications, Education and Training
Minimum
- Ontario Diploma in Early Childhood
- 5 years experience as a RECE teacher
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- Experience as a center supervisor (Asset)
- Food Handling Certificate (Asset)

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Ministry of Education CCEYA and municipal criteria.
- Develop and enhance center philosophies to adapt age-appropriate programming for the children.
- Engage with teachers to develop and implement age-appropriate programs.
- Motivate, mentor and coach staff to become excel in their job.
- Provide frequent formal and informal constructive feedback to staff.
- Perform staff evaluations.
- Identify training and professional development opportunities to all staff.
- Create and maintain staff schedules and accurate staff records.
- Schedule and host staff meetings
- Maximize enrollment of the center by promoting, marketing and advertising the center utilizing various media formats.
- Assist directors in pursuing various fundings such as subsidies, grants, fundraising and\or donations.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of the entire center.
- Maintain and raise the standard of care at the center.
- Share regular communication with parents using different formats, such as email, newsletters, and\or events.
- Provide updates to the center directors.
- Ensure all CCEYA and operating criteria are implemented.
- Foster a positive, family-friendly environment for children, parents and staff.
- Support families with a high ESL component and diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Support Directors in the implementation of policies and procedures.
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
