Supervisor

A confidential manufacturing company in London Ontario is seeking a Supervisor to cover weekend shifts on a casual and contract basis.

Supervisors are responsible for planning assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. They also ensure compliance with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards. They have full shift responsibility. Candidates must be able to work a 6-month contract primarily day shift over the weekends.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Ensures effective employee relations daily, providing coaching and development

· Makes employment decisions and resolve employee concerns through problem resolution

· Supports continuous improvement activities within the team through active participation and direction

· Manages team performance measures and provides regular reports

· Maintains the timekeeping system

· Counsels, records, and applies appropriate discipline as necessary

Job Qualifications

· Excellent people skills with demonstrated leadership ability

· 2-5 years’ experience in a supervisory position

· Excellent work ethic

· Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes and materials

Education

· High school diploma or GED required

· Post-secondary education and related training a definite asset
