Fort Vermilion School Division Our Children, Our Students, Our Future: Moving the Dial on Every ChildThe Fort Vermilion School Division invites applications for the position of Supervisor of Learning Services Literacy The Fort Vermilion School Division prioritizes student improvement in literacy skills across all content areas. To implement strategies to strengthen and develop student skills, the division will be employing a Supervisor of Learning Services to provide leadership in the divisional priority of literacy. The supervisor will mentor literacy coordinators, conduct assessments, and present on student literacy themes that emerge from the data. Duties: Coordination and delivery of services to benefit students throughout the jurisdiction in the areas of: Divisional Priorities Curriculum and Instruction Instructional Support Student Assessment Support and mentorship of School Based Administrators Appropriate use of Division Resources Other duties as assigned by the superintendent. Required Qualifications: Be in possession of, or eligible for, an Alberta teaching certificate Have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience The ability to work in a team environment and take direction The ability to travel and demonstrate flexibility of schedule The ability to facilitate Literacy professional development Deep understanding of Literacy AssessmentsPreferred Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a School Based Administrator Prior experience at a divisional leadership level Masters in Education The successful candidate will: Be a lifelong learner Be creative and adaptable in leadership Be focused on continuous improvement personally, professionally and on a divisional level Be an advocate for the student Demonstrate proven skills as an instructional leader Exemplify leadership in a collaborative environment that builds team Be an evidence-based decision makerOur School Division: FVSD serves approximately 4,000 students from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds in fifteen well-equipped, safe, and caring schools and a Home Education Center, all located in several Northwest Alberta communities.
