As the Supervisor Parks Programs, you will oversee a large team responsible for the ongoing operations of Park Volunteer and Urban Conservation programs, to promote the responsible use of parks. Primary duties include:
- Manage human resource functions including recruitment, coaching and training, mentoring and staff development, assigning and delegating work, managing performance and ensuring quality and service standards are met.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive working environment for staff and customers.
- Promote and oversee the operation of Inglewood Bird Sanctuary Nature Centre, Ralph Klein Park Environmental Education Centre and other facilities.
- Develop a business plan, processes, and budget forecast in relation to Service Education Operations. Continually identify efficiencies through re-engineering processes, assign appropriate staff resources, and prioritizing demand for services.
- Create and maintain relationships with sponsors, vendors, and external organizations in order to promote and grow opportunities within Calgary Parks & Open Spaces.
- A degree in Environmental Studies, Recreation, Education, Volunteer Management, Special Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience overseeing a park or recreation facility or volunteer program, and experience supervising diverse staff and administering human resources policies and procedures.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalency) with no more than 6 demerits OR a Class 5 Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, and no current charges or suspensions pending is required.
- Access to a personal vehicle for business use is required.
- You have well developed leadership skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, political sensitivity, effective planning and organizational skills, and knowledge of business processes.
- Ability to obtain City of Calgary operator's permit.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Compensation: Level E $80,640 ¿ 121,760 per annum
