Your opportunity:
Student Housing and Residence Life (SHRL) is a vibrant, fast-moving department within Student Affairs at UTM and we are looking for a thoughtful, focused Student Housing and Residence Life leader to be our Supervisor, Residence Admissions. Reporting to, and working under the direction of the Assistant Director, Residence Administration and Operations, the Supervisor, Residence Admissions will oversee the admissions professional staff in their work creating a positive and supportive experience for our students and guests. With a commitment to a high level of customer service, working with others to solve problems and provide solutions and a high value on teamwork, you will provide direction and leadership as part of the Housing Services Team. As one with a high level of focus on details, you understand the impact of admissions within Student Housing and Residence Life. You value attention to detail, collaboration for implementing the best solutions and following procedural standards. You are someone who keeps pace with best practices, provincial standards and the most up-to-date systems such as StarRez for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating the annual Residence Admissions and application cycles. You will handle a large volume of sensitive and/or confidential information so knowledge and awareness of FIPPA is mandatory. Attention to detail is also important when organizing materials and implementing policy. At times you will be required established standards when responding to emergencies.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Interpreting and applying policies andprocedures when making independent decisions
-Analyzing administrative processes and procedures and recommending changes for improvement
-Monitoring service level agreements to ensure adherence
-Overseeing the data collection and analysis processes
-Producing complex statistical information
-Applying established standards when administering committees
Essential Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
-Minimum five years related experience, with at least 3 years' experience working in a post-secondary residence environment.
-Experience supervising staff appointed and/or casual employees.
-Experience with theOntario Residential Tenancies Act, including knowledge of post-secondary education institution exemptions.
-Experience managing admissions and applications in a University residential setting.
-Experience with StarRez and Microsoft Office.
-Demonstrated ability to work independently, create sound and efficient administrative processes and build collaborative working relationships.
-Demonstrated problem solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
-Expert spreadsheet skills required, including the ability to use advanced functions and formulas.
-Excellent customer service skills in providing detailed information and support to various stakeholders
-Knowledge of the university’s procedures as they relate to the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA) and management of confidential student information
-Ability to identify trends in occupancy management and identify influencing factors.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 13 -- $83,150 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $106,336. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
