Job Title: Restaurant Support Staff
Department: Restaurant, Front of House
Reporting To: Director, Food & Beverage
Supervising Manager: Assistant Director, Food & Beverage and Support Staff Manager
Job Description:
The role of a Restaurant Support Staff worker encompasses a dynamic combination of hosting and food running responsibilities, contributing to the seamless operation of the dining experience. This versatile position involves creating a welcoming atmosphere, managing seating arrangements, and assisting in the efficient delivery of food orders. Restaurant Support Staff play a vital role in ensuring a positive customer experience through their attention to detail, effective communication, and teamwork in a bustling restaurant setting.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and seat guests promptly, creating a positive first impression.
- Assist in managing table turnovers and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
- Collaborate with the kitchen to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food orders to guests.
- Provide assistance to servers by running food orders to designated tables.
- Take ownership of maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including clearing and resetting tables.
- Assist in addressing customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism, escalating issues when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with both front and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with the hosting team to manage reservations, organize waiting lists, and optimize seating arrangements.
- Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, if required.
- Take on other duties as deemed necessary by management.
Requirements and Skills:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is an asset.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic knowledge of food handling and safety regulations.
- Ability to adapt and switch between hosting and food running duties seamlessly.
- Willingness to learn
