Dimensions
Directly manage the services of the Dome Site Electrical and Instrumentation Shop and field services. Reports to the Dome Site Electrical and Instrumentation General Foreperson.
Purpose
To organize, co-ordinate and direct maintenance activities, ensuring that the work is performed in the safest and most effective manner by managing all resources towards complying to the maintenance schedules with the least negative impact to the production plan.
Essential Duties
-Engage in strategic planning and providing guidance and leadership to the Dome Site Electrical and
-Instrumentation Shop and field services.
-Ensure the health and safety of the crews.
-Promote good housekeeping practices.
-Conduct workplace inspections, identify risks and hazards and take corrective measures.
-Practice fatality risk management and the 5-point safety system daily.
-Conduct critical control verifications.
-Practice and promote Newmont’s safety programs in conjunction with the IRS.
-Ensure that the occupational health and safety act, Government acts and regulations and company policies
-and procedures are adhered to.
-Coordinate and ensure production targets are met as forecasted, within budget and safety parameters.
-Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures as required.
-Assist with planning and implementation of support projects
-Work closely with SAP, open and close work orders, search and charge out warehouse stock.
-Provide monthly accruals for department.
-Work closely with maintenance planning and mill operations.
-Forms, develops, monitors and coordinates a team of mining staff professionals.
-Complete time entry when required.
-Ensure crews receive training / accreditation in the jobs they are expected to perform.
-Provide clear expectations of the production levels expected.
-Provide coaching, hold to account and evaluate hourly employees.
-Conduct job observations and provide employees with feedback on their performance
-Provide discipline not including suspension.
Training & Experience
-Certified Tradesperson
-5 to 10 years of experience in maintenance environment.
-2 years supervisory experience in a supervisory capacity.
-Require good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. 
-Must have a good general understanding of the mill and shop areas.
-Experience working in a unionized environment.
Working Conditions
• This position is located at our Dome site, part of Newmont's Porcupine Mine located near Timmins, ON.
• In this role you will work a 5x5x4 schedule, which means we do need you to live near the mine site.
