Scope
The Surrey RCMP Cell OCC is looking to fill several auxiliary Switchboard Operator positions. The Switchboard Operator position is responsible for operating switchboard and responds to a wide range of general inquiries including receiving and directing calls and message taking.
Responsibilities

• Provides information in a prompt, accurate and courteous manner while providing switchboard/receptionist duties. • Receives and transcripts accurate information from the public and channels them to the appropriate section. Receives emergency calls for assistance and transfers calls to appropriate area. • Operates a fax machine, receiving & transmitting data. • Maintains phone and address lists of Sections personnel. • Takes messages and provides general information to the public. • Pages Emergency Response Teams. • Keeps simple records and performs other clerical duties. Performs some data entry.

Qualifications
A qualified applicant will have:

• Successful completion of Grade 12 supplemented by business courses • 1 year of switchboard experience • Have the ability to type 45 WPM

Conditions of Employment
This position requires completion of an RCMP Reliability Security Clearance.
