Our core product is a custom monitoring system which simplifies the deployment and management of wireless networks used for autonomous haulage and dozing. Working with us provides the opportunity to be on the forefront of technology and grow with a small, nimble company that already has partnerships with some of the largest mining technology developers in the world as well as an international customer base. We are currently seeking to hire a Network Specialist, specializing in mine wireless networks. Successful candidates will be working in an innovative environment responsible for providing design, support and maintenance of our clients’ mine wireless networks.
Job description
Responsibilities:
· Supporting servers, workstations, wired and wireless network hardware, security, and backup systems.
· Ensure appropriate change management and compliance with security requirements.
· Network management including:
- Cisco switches, routers, firewalls,
- Windows and Linux server management,
- Vendor management for issue escalation and RMA
- Creating and supporting physical and virtual machines,
- Provide level 1 support to personnel for business applications and accounts
Required skills:
· Excellent client-facing communication and documentation skills;
· 5+ years of experience in Windows Server and Network Administration
· 5+ years of experience in IT application support.
· Strong knowledge of SQL server database administration,
· Advanced knowledge of Windows servers, Activer Directorory, Backup and Restore, Virtualization.
· Strong knowledge of operating, maintaining Cisco switches, wireless access points, WLAN controllers, and firewalls.
· Experience with mining applications and hardware such as Modular Mine Dispatch, Komatsu FrontRunner, Caterpillar Command, Minestar, Wenco, etc. is desired;
Academic requirement:
· CCENT or CCNA certification (or equivalent experience);
· CCNP and CWNA certification (an asset);
Shift:
· 40h per week (average).
· Work on-call if required.
· This is a Monday - Friday role however shift work 7-on / 7-off 12-hour days may be required.
· Travel to remote customer sites may be required.
