Objective: We're looking for a reliable Full- time Cook who has basic cooking skills and fits in with the team.
Shifts: 4 set shifts a week starting at 11:45am then in summer months an additional shift starting at 4pm- total approx. 37 hours per week.
Menu: The menu consists of 8-10 very simple items with minimal prep and only the use of a new convection oven (no fryer or cook top). Menu items include nachos, pretzels, samosas, potato skins and a selection of pizzas. Check out the menu here- Whistlerbeer.com/taphouse
Job description
The Cook is responsible for the preparation, cooking & running the dishwasher, with the occasional food running while maintaining and upholding all company policies & procedures. The Cook is accountable for rotating products and ensuring the kitchen (including utensils, appliances, prep areas, fridges) are properly cleaned and kept up to all health standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare & cook food items as ordered within expected time frame.
- Ensures kitchen & storage are clean throughout the day and the kitchen is cleaned, prepped and stocked at the end of the day.
- Ensure fridge and freezer are kept clean & organized.
- Control inventory through labelling & rotation
- Report any low food inventory levels to Taphouse Supervisor
- Run dishwasher as necessary
- Food running (on occasion)
- Maintain & uphold all company policies & procedures.
- Complete daily temperature logs & dishwasher logs
- Assist with unloading food deliveries
- Assist other departments when needed
- Follow all Food Safe regulations
Requirements:
- Basic Cooking skills: 1-2 Years of kitchen experience an asset
- Food Safe Certified
- Able to work at a quick pace
- Able to work independently and on a team
- Able to complete task in a timely manner unsupervised
- Able to stand for extended periods of time and work in small kitchen
- Must have accommodation in Whistler or Sea to Sky region

Wage:
This position pays $23.25/hr plus 3% cash tip out on all food, draft & non-alcoholic sales, (approx. $2-$10/hr). Option to opt out of the Benefits package for a hire wage of $24.25
We conduct yearly performance reviews and wage reviews.
