Department Overview
TD Insurance is part of TD Bank Financial Group, one of Canada's largest financial institutions. TD Insurance helps protect clients from the 'accidents of life' with a wide range of products including Credit Protection, Life, Health, Travel, Home, Auto and Small Business insurance. Job Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business, Commerce, Project Management, Change Management, or related field; with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term
  • Lead opportunity assessment, initiation, and support business case development in collaboration with team
  • Support initiation of opportunities through formalized intake process across partners
  • Support business partners assessing digital or system opportunities & value-add capabilities that will drive benefits to the business, customers and colleagues
  • Support management of the "funnel" of new opportunities, including prioritization of future initiatives while impacting cross-functional business benefits
  • Exercise influence and strong relationship management to engage and work alongside SMEs from across TD Insurance and other TD LOBs to see projects through to completion
  • Provide regular updates to the core Business & Operational Enablement Team

Job Details
Reporting to the Senior Manager, SBI Business & Operational Enablement; the Co-Op/Intern will be responsible for helping to define the tactical solutions best aligned to the stated strategy for the Small Business Insurance product. Core capabilities include partnering to identify future opportunities within SBI Insurance, leading opportunity assessments analysis & comparative review, helping to develop and present business cases to the leadership team as well as overseeing the development of new capabilities from requirements gathering to the sustainment of future deliveries that support product growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging partners across TD Insurance, maintaining relationships and ensuring optimal alignment across many workstreams.
Having responsibility for SBI initiatives will require this individual to work in close partnership with various teams across TD Insurance including Technology, Digital Customer Experience, Enterprise Process Excellence, Innovation & Business Architecture, Risk and Control partners like Fraud, Legal and Compliance as well as external vendors. In addition, close collaboration with the SBI Operations Team and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from across TD Insurance and the Bank will be critical to success.
The successful individual will need to be adaptive and resourceful in order to get work done quickly and navigate across a complex terrain of stakeholders and partners. The individual will also need to be detailed oriented and be able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on activities that will deliver the most value to both the business and customers. Having the ability to think "outside the box" and imagine the art of the possible beyond obvious constraints is an asset, as is balancing the need to be a 'big picture thinker' with getting work done efficiently and effectively. The individual is also capable of thinking both at a strategic and tactical level with a focus on delivering benefits while always maintaining customer experience as a core consideration with each new capability.
