Contributes to the overall success of Commerce Engineering in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Be an advocate for quality in the project lifecycle.
- Lead the team to design, develop and maintain test automation frameworks and write moderate to complex code/ scripts to enable continuous testing in an agile environment.
- Lead testing for projects and initiatives across multiple applications, and plan team allocation and capacity management.
- Facilitate communication across team members and motivate the team to achieve shared goals.
- Collaborate with Delivery Lead to plan milestones, successfully execute project delivery, and escalate issues as needed.
- Coordinate the completion of Quality Assurance deliverables on time, as per the schedule, by working in collaboration with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
- Provide regular status updates and call out risks and issues to release and project timelines, conduct root cause analysis of post-production issues and plan to prevent them in future.
- Introduce new tools, technologies, methodologies for Quality Assurance, and lead initiatives to streamline QA processes and implement best practices, on a continuous basis, to act as an agent for change to the organization.
- Report defects and work closely with the team so that solutions can be determined, prioritized, and scheduled.
- Have in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the organization's products, applications, systems, environments, processes and tools.
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field preferred
- 7+ years of Quality Assurance & test automation experience and in-depth knowledge of programming languages (Must have: Java or Javascript; Nice to have: Python), frameworks, and utilities
- 2+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Lead
- Experience with API testing (preferably using Postman)
- Experience of leading teams to encourage both individual and collaborative innovation
- Have detail-oriented approach to testing
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence decision making across stakeholders
- Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Positive and resilient personality - Able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement
