Reporting to the Manager, Central Support, this position provides overall management of the mailroom and corporate records.
What You'll Do:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Central Support unit including managing staff in both the mailroom and corporate records.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive records management program for SCIC.
- Provide leadership and advice to SCIC employees on proper records management.
- Act as the Designated Records Officer and the Records Management Coordinator for SCIC.
- Actively participate on the Records Management Stakeholders group.
- Ensure business unit compliance with proper storage of records and classification.
- Prepare budget and approve invoices charged against the budgeted accounts.
- Manage shredding and recycling at Head Office.
- Image confidential documents on behalf of SCIC.
- Develop and implement Central Support's unit plan.
- Seek opportunities to increase the use of automated mailing equipment on behalf of SCIC, and potentially other ministries.
What You'll Need:
To be successful in this position you will need a two-year business diploma, supplemented by experience in records management.
- Proven management, supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to maintain excellent working relations with employees.
- Knowledge and experience with computer applications, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Completion of courses from the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) and/or post-secondary education in Information and Records Management would be an asset.
