Technical Buyer

Haul-All Equipment Ltd is seeking a Technical Buyer. Reporting to the Materials & Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will focus on sourcing hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical components for the 3 Haul-All Divisions: Haul-All Equipment Systems (www.haulall.com), Sure Flame Products (www.sureflame.ca), and Extreme Modular Buildings (www.extrememodularbuildings.com)

Key Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and procure materials, supplies, and equipment
• Negotiate favorable terms & maintain strong relationships with suppliers
• Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
• Participate in supplier performance reviews and undertake research on new suppliers.
• Develop a good understanding of ERP (Epicor) functionalities and work closely with the team for system enhancements.
• Manage problems and schedule changes and ensure changes are reflected within the ERP system.
• Work together with engineering & sales as part of the NPI process.
• Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
• Support inventory and associated functions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Supply Chain/Mechanical engineering and/or 5+ years of experience in procurement and sourcing in a manufacturing environment
• Strong proficiency in using ERP and technology and software relevant to purchasing and inventory management.
• Sound working knowledge of MS Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Teams).
• Effective communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize processes and make data-driven decisions.
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy
• Leadership skills and project management experience is an asset
• Freight/Logistics experience an asset.
• CPM, CPSM, APP, or other purchasing credentials considered an asset
