About the team

Data and Analytics (DnA) Engineering supports BMO's Digital-First, risk, regulatory and compliance requirements by providing enterprise-scale solutions using data, analytics, and technology capabilities. As a central organization, DnA collaborates with groups across the bank such as Finance, Risk, AML, FCU, HR, Marketing, Wealth, Capital Markets, Personal and Business Banking, Global Asset Management, etc. on various data initiatives. We deliver hundreds of data transformation initiatives every year to help our partners solve problems and make smarter data-driven decisions.

What will you do

• Oversee the completion of project deliverables
• Ensure design, development, testing, implementation, and support of solution aligns with business requirements and LOB strategies
• Assist in creation, modification, and support of data models and datastores
• Document and administer data backup and recovery, capacity, and security plans
• Orchestrate assessment of new data technology products and releases
• Lead investigation and resolution of database, technical, and system issues
• Assess and recommend preventative process or system enhancements
• Identify and recommend opportunities by liaising with business stakeholders and internal teams
• Foster professional development by providing direction, coaching, and guidance to team members
• Strengthen core capability via knowledge sharing, and building communities of practice

• Stay abreast of industry technical and business trends

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

• 7+ years of relevant experience and IT education and/or certification(s)
• 5+ years of experience with SQL, NoSQL (query, SSIS, functions)
• Experience with Power Designer tool
• Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data
• Experience in data warehousing, reading data models, data mapping
• Applied knowledge of problem decomposition and analysis techniques
• Experience with SSIS, Spark, Unix/Linux scripting, Hadoop, Netezza and general architecture of Netezza/Hadoop
• Familiarity with structured and non-structured datastore technologies
• Strong documentation, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple work streams concurrently

• Banking Industry experience with large enterprise systems
• Python, Scala, Cloud computing services (e.g. AWS),

$74,800.00 - $138,600.00

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
