Reporting to the Equipment Manager, the Technical Planner provides all necessary preparation and instruction for the efficient completion of a maintenance task and should include evaluating labor, parts, and material requirements and availability, detailed job plans or instructions, permit requirements, and production coordination requirements.
What are we looking for :

  • Minimum of 3 years related maintenance experience supporting heavy equipment / light vehicle fleets.
  • Experience supporting Cat, Komatsu, Hitachi, Ford, Western Star and International equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of maintenance management systems and project planning.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills supporting preventative maintenance.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems including Microsoft office and other costs systems.
  • Working knowledge of OEM maintenance systems.
What you’ll be working on:

  • Maintain up to date history for each piece of equipment.
  • Schedule work orders related to routine maintenance (predictive and preventive) and corrective maintenance, identifying, and securing the required resources (materials, spare parts, tools, instruments, and equipment), time involved, safety recommendations, procedures, and technical information.
  • Select and prioritize each work order.
  • Monitor and control the backlog.
  • Develop and validate with maintenance operations the weekly maintenance schedule.
  • Close work orders.
  • Analyze the deviations reported by maintenance supervisors, identifying the causes and propose corrective actions to minimize and / or update maintenance plans.
  • Suggest updates of Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and Associated Part Lists (APL’s) based on information supplied by field maintenance and supplies.
  • Maintain a high commitment to personal safety and integrity of the environment and equipment during the planning of work orders.
  • Recommend the updating of the maintenance guidelines in accordance with information provided by maintenance supervisors and supplies (materials, parts and times).
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, quality, and environmental policies.
  • Other duties as required.
