Description:
In this position you will be joining one a Fortune 500 company that's been an industry leader for over a century! You will effectively help manage embedded systems software projects for next generation vehicles! We are looking for a generalist who knows about various processes. The selected candidate will be helping us without build platforms, our scheduling, and our release planning. This person will be assisting in multiple different streams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing Technical Projects from requirements definition to delivery.
- Ensuring that teams’ product deliveries are on schedule by identifying and tracking dependencies, working to remove blockers, tracking and reporting on project status.
- Providing leadership in the areas, effective prioritization and maintenance of team velocity.
- Day-to-day prioritization of tasks and running daily scrum meetings.
- Knowledgeable in agile programming processes. Converting long term project plans into specific sprint goals for each sprint. Sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Keeping the team focused on following proper processes for development.
- Knowledge of tools:
- MS Project to create project plans and track dependencies and updates.
- JIRA for tracking requirement, epics, user stories.
- JIRA boards for managing sprints and maintaining scrum boards, tracking sprint progress.
Top Skills Details:
- Experience with middleware extraction services
- Experience doing software releases
- Ability to decompose requirements into stories
- Technical understanding, ideally with a background in embedded C++
- Proactive attitude, someone who shows initiative.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required)
- 5+ years of software development in C++ with at least 3 years on POSIX compliant embedded platforms.
- 3+ years of providing Technical Project leadership to software teams.
- Experience with decomposition, planning and delivery of software features. The person needs to have overseen software projects, preferably embedded software, from requirements gathering to delivery.
- Creative and analytical thinker.
- Methodical; capable of prioritizing work, overcoming hurdles and working to tight deadlines.
- An excellent communicator with a proven record of communication across teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with distributed computing environments.
- Experience with resource planning and building teams. Technical interviews, candidate selection.
- Experience with decomposition, planning and delivery of software products and components.
- Prior experience with project management and acting as scrum master in an agile software development environment.
