Support Staff Full-time New Position

(First consideration for Support Staff and Academic positions will be given to internal applicants in accordance with the respective Collective Agreements)

The incumbent with oversight from the Events and Media Production Manager assists the Media Production team supporting events college wide. Duties include technical event setup, videography, livestream, and postproduction. Routine duties require direct contact with college administration, students, and faculty. The incumbent will also assist with basic maintenance of production equipment and collaborate. Additional duties may include assisting on production projects internal for SCI. Works closely with the Media Producer as an assistant on projects.

Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department through a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in the production of live events, livestream, and post-production needs of the college
• Communicates with Media Productions services producer as required
• Maintains current understanding of College and School policies and procedures
• Demonstrating a high level of customer service, tact, diplomacy, and professionalism
• Collaborates with Manager Events and Media Production on event design details
• Ensures suitable equipment is procured for the event
• Sets up live events making sure this follows site or College Health and Safety guidelines
• Communicates with stakeholders as required and providing regular post event reports
• Works with the Manager, Technology to modify request and manage client expectations
• Assists with equipment set-up and offers technical support to Annual Convocation, Awards Ceremonies, Partner requests for production services
• Under the direct guidance of Senior Administration while on-site, change event setup or operation of the event to best meet participant, administration and external stakeholders' needs
• Assists with events Media Production, videos, graphics and others

Qualifications:

• Two-year Diploma in Television Performance, Independent Production, or related field of study is required
• Minimum two years of related work experience in Media Related field. Ie Videography, Photography and experience with Media Production software
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines while handling constant interruptions
• Ability to judge and maintain confidentiality
• Organizational skills as a result of competing demands from faculty, students, and manager
• Ability to work as part of a team and with supervision
• High level of interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to use tact and diplomacy to achieve objectives
• Willingness to upgrade skills as required for continuous advancement in the department
• Willingness to work on events schedules including weeknights and weekends
