Technologist (Instrumentation and Control)

You will be responsible to carry out Instrumentation and Control maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repairs on thermal power plant control systems associated with power boilers, turbine generators, emergency power systems and auxiliary equipment; performs maintenance, installation and modification work on data acquisition systems, analytical Instrumentation and plant efficiency testing equipment, environmental Instrumentation and computerized control equipment. Operate, test, inspect, troubleshoot and maintain all equipment related to the Monitoring of Ambient Air and continuous emission monitoring (CEMs) associated with the operation of a 500MW thermal generating station. Will be required to climb to and work at heights in excess of 50m. All other duties related to or associated with this classification.
You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
You possess high school graduation, successful completion of the two (2) or three (3) year electrical or electronic technology course with instrumentation electives from a recognized technical institute and either have completed the four (4) year training program established by the Corporation or have four (4) years experience as a technician in the discipline. Shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules pertaining to an industrial environment and a working knowledge of existing environmental regulations. Must possess an appropriate valid driver's license.
