Tekla Steel Detailer

JMT Consultants Inc. is a growing structural consulting firm that is currently seeking a motivated Tekla Steel Detailer to join our dedicated team. For individuals outside of the Winnipeg area, we offer an exciting relocation expenses package. We will also consider the opportunity to work remotely for the right candidate.

This is an exciting, in-house, full-time position that includes a variety of challenges, and continuous learning. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and other members of the JMT team, to accurately and efficiently detail structural and miscellaneous steel projects using Tekla Structures while ensuring client standards are upheld and company procedures are followed.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare Tekla models following the structural and architectural design drawings and specifications, in compliance with applicable standards and building codes
• Connect steel member per connection design information provided by the EOR
• Create and incorporate all RFI’s promptly when discrepancies are found, or additional information is required to complete the process, and follow up as required
• Create and modifies drawings for Approval, Assembly, As-builts and Erection Drawings
• Coordinate with fabricators, engineers and architects to meet project requirements
• Prepare drawing packages and issue to the client per scheduled delivery dates

Qualifications:

• Any level of knowledge of Tekla Structures
• 5+ years’ experience as a Steel Detailer – willing to consider candidates who can demonstrate significant experience in a related field
• Experience in structural and miscellaneous steel construction, fabrication, and the ability to read drawings
• Self-motivated and ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal guidance
• Deadline driven with an attention to detail

• Legally able to work in Canada
