TEMPORARY CONTRACT POSITION for approximately a month with the possibility of extension.
Hourly Range $22 - $43 hr.
Duties and Responsibilities: Shipping Department Support
- Reporting to Supervisor-Shipping, position is responsible to organize and create required pick/pack slips and shipping documentation in JDE in support of Shipping Supervisor primarily in respect to pipe orders.
- Receives in JDE all products and materials delivered to Abbotsford Pipe manufacturing site
- Arranges outbound shipping of Maintenance Department equipment & parts and QC samples
- Processes Shipping Department finished goods cycle counts and provides stock-checks for the Shipping and Customers Service teams
- During busy periods, assists Shipping Supervisor to assign and prioritize customer shipments to hourly Loader Operators
- Supports Shipping Supervisor during heavy volume periods to source product transportation (short and long-haul trucking) to routes in B.C., the Prairies and the northwest U.S.
- General administrative support or the Shipping team
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
- Planning loads and process shipping documents (Domestic and International)
- Process customer returns
- Coding of freight invoices in third party software program
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Grade 12, with strong Math skills
- At minimum, three years’ experience in shipping administration, preferably gained in a manufacturing or warehousing context.
- Familiar with fast-paced environment
- An able communicator, effective in verbal and written forms, including electronic media.
- Computer literate with Outlook, Word, Excel and a major ERP platform (preferably JDE and TMS) Westlake Pipe and Fittings a Westlake Company is an equal opportunity employer.
