Top Man/woman

Raywalt Construction is locally owned and specializes in trenching and installation of municipal utility infrastructure, including watermains and sewers. We are currently hiring Top Man/Woman for the 2022 Season.

Duties will include:

• Ensure proper tools in hand at all times working in trenches (Tape measure, bar, rags, marker, level etc.)
• Regular and timely communication with Foreman, Operator, and crew members;
• Inspect tools prior to sending into trench
• Observe and report hazards, issues with ladders, slopes to foreman, operator and crew members (when applicable)
• Rigging pipe for crane activities and working directly mainline hoe;
• Ability to cut and bevel pipes properly
• Extensive knowledge in the use different types of lasers;
• Taking shots of pipe with eye level transit tool;
• Ensure water control in trenches with the use of pumps;
• Perform pre-inspections of pipe prior to installation;
• Re-checking work after installation and prior to final coverage of gravel;

This position is seasonal, physically demanding, and requires standing for long periods of time, manual lifting, and constant physical work.

Own PPE required: steel toed boots and gloves
Company supplied PPE: Vest, Safety glasses, and hard hat.

Own transportation and drivers license required. Sites are in Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Shifts schedules are Monday to Friday 10-12 Hour shifts but may be extended depending on project requirements. Saturdays are 8 Hour shifts by may be extended depending on project requirements. Overtime - is paid at time and a half. Work is weather dependent. Shifts include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Experience preferred, willing to train.
