Purpose of Job:


The primary purpose of the Total Wealth Planning Associate is to provide Regional support to Scotia Wealth Management advisors and Specialists. The Associate is also required to work very closely with other members of the Team of Specialists during plan preparation.

Accountabilities:

1. Proactively support the planning needs of Wealth Advisors and Relationship Managers by:

  • Preparing plans submitted by Wealth Advisors and Relationship Managers
  • Inputting client data from documents submitted into the WealthPrint software
  • Working with Advisors to create a Total Wealth Plan that addresses their clients' immediate and future goals and objectives
  • Providing alternative scenarios or solutions when clients are unable to meet goals
  • Identifying and communicating referral opportunities to advisors by completing Executive Summaries and Action Plans
  • Acting as liason between Team of Experts and Advisors
  • Ensuring that all plans assigned are accurate and completed in a timely manner pursuant to the Service Level Agreement

2. Supporting the domiciled Total Wealth Planners and / or branch planners by:

  • Inputting client data into the WealthPrint software
  • Supporting advisor planning activity within the region
  • Providing Total Wealth Planning Associated tax, retirement and estate planning support to advisors
  • Print and Bind plans as requested by advisors or Total Wealth Planners


3. Supporting the Regional Advisors, Relationship Managers, and Wealth Planners by phone and email by:

  • Answering phone and email inquiries on Total Wealth Planning Associated questions and/or software support
  • Assisting users with plans they have created themselves using WealthPrint
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service


4. Proactively contribute to ongoing professional practice in the Regional Planning Group by:

  • Maintaining awareness and currency of the latest legislative and other financial industry changes that may affect planning techniques
  • Writing articles or bulletins regarding legislative changes, planning best practices or ad hoc requests from advisors
  • Developing modeling strategies for the software to incorporate new legislation

5. Contribute to the effective functioning of Client Solutions team by:

  • Building effective working relationships across the team and with various business lines and corporate function contacts
  • Facilitating a culture of open and honest communication
  • Actively participating and contributing to touch bases and team meetings
  • Encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches
  • Actively share knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members
  • Developing and executing a meaningful employee development plan

Education/Work Experience/Designations:

  • In – depth understanding of the comprehensive financial planning process including investments, asset protection, retirement, estate planning and tax issues.
  • College or University degree
  • Working towards CFP
  • Excellent Computer Skills (Word and Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
  • Client facing role where you would have the opportunity to provide financial advice
  • NaviPlan software experience
