Job Description

• Offer interactive, and personalized insights into the local history, wildlife, plant life, and geology of Banff National Park and Icefields Parkway.
• Craft and execute your own dynamic interpretive day excursions.
• Guide tours with professionalism and precision, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of every participant.
• Uphold exceptional customer service standards throughout the tour, leaving guests with unforgettable memories.
• Immerse yourself in a vibrant, social, and fulfilling work atmosphere.
• Safely operate a 14-passenger shuttle in various conditions, ensuring smooth and comfortable transportation for all.

Your Contributions to the Position

· You have a genuine enthusiasm for mountain living and its cultural aspects.

· You're friendly and approachable, enjoying chatting with visitors from around the world and sharing what you know with enthusiasm.

· You're excellent at communicating and feel confident when you have to speak in front of others.

· You're great at keeping things organized and managing your time well.

· You have a positive attitude and always present yourself professionally, adhering to the company's guidelines and standards.

Requirements for this Role

· Fluency in English (verbal & written)

· Legal right to live and work in Canada.

· A valid Class IV driver’s license and clean drivers abstract.

· Obtain and submit an RCMP reference check-upon hire.

· Wilderness First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain one)

· In-depth knowledge of Banff National Park (training will be provided as well).

· Post-secondary education or at least 2-year work experience in tourism/hospitality industry.

· Note: Required first aid certificates and courses from Interpretive Guide Association cost will be covered by Into the Wild Tours.

Job Types: Full-time

Base Salary: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Supplemental pay types:

· Bonus pay: depending on your knowledge of our great National Parks, you can earn up to 3$/hr more

· Retention bonus: (extra 3$/hr. for summer contract)

· Tips: expected gratuities vary but are $5-$10/hour on average for the summer months.

· Overtime pay.

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week.

What happens after applying:

· Interviews will be conducted from March to April 30th.

· Successful candidates will be invited for training in May.

· Flexible start dates from May to September.

· End dates in October, depending on your winter schedule.

· Winter contracts starts in November until end of April each year.
