Tour Preparation/Mapping/Route Developer (Tour mapping and route developer)
Freewheeling Adventures is looking for an armchair explorer to join its management team in a small office on St. Margaret’s Bay, just outside Hubbards, Nova Scotia. The position can be part-time or full-time, with a very flexible schedule. If interested, you should have some familiarity with online mapping and navigation software. Organization and attention to details are important. The work location is 10 minutes’ drive from Hubbards. You will need a car (or bicycle) unless you live very close by.

Freewheeling Adventures offers guided and self-guided bicycle tours, walking tours, and hiking holidays, including detailed planning, vehicle support, nutritious food, and excellent rental equipment. It is a family operation, started in 1987 as a seasonal business in Nova Scotia, it now operates in many countries, primarily in Canada and Europe. It has grown steadily and now operates year-round, with a small management team and a cadre of well-informed, kind, and interesting guides, both in Nova Scotia and in many other locations.
Position Summary:
The Tour Preparation/Mapper/Route Developer is responsible for preparing tour materials and guidance for customers and guides, including route descriptions, maps, GPS tracks, etc. ensuring all details are accurate, relevant and up to date. The role also includes development of new Tour Routes. This is a collaborative position that will require the ability to work well in a small team sharing multiple roles. The seasonal nature of the business brings more deadlines in the spring and summer and allows for a more relaxed and flexible schedule in the fall and winter. There is room for growth, advancement, and role diversification, and there are opportunities for travel.
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Improve and refine tour presentation and resources.
· Maintain, edit, and improve route library using RideWithGPS.
· Maintain, edit, and improve tour documents (Freewheeling app, Route Instructions, Guide Instructions, Maps, etc).
· Ensure all tour materials are in place and delivered to both customers and guides, on time.
· Custom and new trip itinerary development.
Required Skills:
· Familiarity with online mapping and navigation software (RideWithGPS, Google Maps).
· Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator).
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative, open office setting.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.

· Bike shop organization, bike prep, and rental delivery/pickup
· Logistics coordination – bike equipment, vehicles, guides.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $22.00-$29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 45 per week
