The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated, permanent full-time Traffic Guidance Engineering Assistant within the Provincial Operational Services Branch. Reporting to the Traffic Guidance Manager, you will provide technical support and leadership to the pavement marking and sign installation crews. A key responsibility for this position, is the protection of employee and traffic safety through accurate data management. This position will be headquartered out of Prince Albert, depending on the successful candidate.
In this position, you will:
- Organize and conduct desktop and field surveys in order to direct installation of signs and pavement markings;
- Manage communication related to third-party surveying of underground utilities at sign installation work sites;
- Monitor, measure, inspect and control the performance of contractors in the case of private delivery of sign installation;
- Protect employees and traffic safety through accurate data management; and
- Possess a Class 5 Drivers license.
Typically, the competencies required for this position would be obtained through a Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma, a Geomatics Engineering Diploma, an Engineering Degree, or a combination of education and several years of experience.
