Job description

Job Summary: The Trailer Department Staff is responsible to perform the duties required to deliver, setup, repair and maintain trailers sold by Pike Lake Golf Centre Limited on Pike Lake property and other locations throughout Ontario.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Drive vehicles, as required to haul trailers.

· Complete and record as required daily work vehicle inspections, ensure proper servicing of vehicles is completed

· Utilize pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment.

· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work vehicles.

· Recording all gas usage of trucks in gas log book located in Lodge office.

· Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as requested by supervisor.

· Adhere to all Health and Safety standards and the Pike Lake House Alcohol Policy.

DELIVERY

· Load truck with the tools and equipment needed for the site.

· Complete and record as required daily work vehicle inspections, ensure proper servicing of vehicles is completed

· Take down old trailer and salvage any useful materials.

· Bring trade-in trailers back to Pike Lake for any repairs before being put on the Used Trailer Lot for sale.

· Return dealer license plates to office when delivery is done.

· Prepare lot for new trailer to be setup on; level lot and remove any debris.

· Hook up trailers for delivery to other parks, checking connections with truck and trailer for lights and brakes.

· Make sure all paperwork is done to take with you.

· Make sure all electrical is working.

· Record any deficiencies identified with the unit and hand in to repair & maintenance staff.

SETUP

  • Clean and perform preparation of trailer-site.
  • Clear and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
  • Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
  • Take down old trailer and salvage useful materials.
  • Measure, mark, and record distances to lay out areas where trailers will be located.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of trailer unit.
  • Setup new trailer unit, block and level.
  • Hookup sewer and water.
  • Finish trimming inside of unit.
  • Utilize pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.

Job Requirements:

  • Completed WHIMS training at Pike Lake.
  • Completed Fall Arrest training (If supervisor deems necessary).

· Possess a valid motor vehicle license (G Class).

  • Ability to follow safe procedures for use of power tools and equipment.

· Positive work attitude.

· Team player and work co-cooperatively with other Pike Lake staff.

Work Conditions:

· Need to be able to work long days and some weekends.

· Will be required to perform physical labour both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

· Job requires ability to work with tools, lumber and materials.

· Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs for 50 feet is required.

· USE OF PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT WILL BE REQUIRED (HARD-HAT, SAFETY BOOTS, ETC.)

· Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object.

· Hazards associated with the construction industry.

· Noise level is generally loud.

· A lot of travel is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
