Job description

AirPro SAR Services is currently looking for a Training Centre Operations Team Leader (TCOL) to join the our team in Comox, British Columbia, Canada.

AirPro is a joint venture between Airbus Defence and Space and PAL Aerospace, fully dedicated to the successful operation of Canada's Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Aircraft Replacement (FWSAR) programme. AirPro provides day to-day management of all ISS activities like engineering, logistics, maintenance, training, IT systems, infrastructure and materiel support throughout the product life cycle.

The focus of this role will be on the FWSAR program in alignment training needs of the RCAF on the C-295 aircraft. The TCOL is the representative of the Training Support System Manager (TSSM) at the Training Centre, he/she will lease with the CAE Training Site Manager to schedule the appropriate delivery of the Training and be responsible of the "health" of all Training Centre operations deliverables.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Support the Training Support System Manager in all efforts related to accomplish Training Delivery according to the Integrated Master Schedule approved by Canada
  • Solve Scheduling conflicts and look for training efficiencies
  • Monitor and coordinate the duties of the "Training Scheduler" and "Course Coordinator", balancing the workload of both positions
  • To schedule all FWSAR Training activities and de-conflict mutual interference for a better client experience
  • To Schedule all FWSAR Courses optimizing resources and Training Devices usage
  • Support Training Development Working Group
  • Aircraft Training Device Service bulletin implementation
  • To assess the necessity of SB implementation in all training devices and offering the assessment to Canada
  • Support the TSSM in the management of the "Change Control Board" and KPIs
  • Prepare all documentation needed for the Control Change Board level 3
  • Participate in all meeting for the Control Change Board level 2 at Airpro
  • Prepare al documentation related to CCB item to be raise to Canada
  • Assess internal and external KPIs
  • Support the TSSM with Airpro Deviation Information Request
  • Control of all Airpro DIR coming from the TC
  • Help the Airpro Engineering team to get answer to DIRs
  • Delivery of weekly Training Centre Schedule.
  • Challenge of Subcontractor KPIs
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for candidates with the following experience and skillset:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree or post secondary diploma in related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 10 years of Military Experience
  • 10 years of Experience as a Manager
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a leadership position with multiple subordinates
  • Firm understanding/familiarity of the military environment
  • Familiar with learning processes employed in professional Training Centres
  • Able to work under pressure and in a constant changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to flex working schedule to support FWSAR program demands
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or French considered an asset
