Position: Manager, Tundra Take-Out & Diner
Location: Tununiq Sauniq Co-op, Pond Inlet Nunavut
Reporting To: General Manager
Position Summary
The Manager, Tundra Take-Out & Diner is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations, under general supervision of the General Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
· To give advice, assistance, supervision and training to kitchen/restaurant employees under the supervision of the General Manager
· To maintain the highest standards of hospitality for restaurant patrons
· To control all expenses of the restaurant
· To control the restaurant’s operations by supervising sales, purchases, services, contract work, spoilage, and food costs
· To maintain good and regular communication with the General Manager, and with the staff
· To plan and develop work schedules to ensure the effective management of scheduled hours
· To maintain good and acceptable level of cleanliness in the restaurant
· To complete spot checks of restaurant facilities on a weekly basis and to report any problems to the General Manager
· To assist in preparing menu and cost out all meal items to insure proper margin is being maintained
· To perform other duties as required for the proper management of the restaurant.
Qualifications
· 5 years experience in kitchen/dining room management and/or Cook Level 1 certificate.
· Administrative and supervisory abilities
· Some computer software experience is preferred
· Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
