Turf Maintenance

The Edson Golf Club is a semi- private facility located in Edson, Alberta only 2 hours west of the city of Edmonton. A great course to stop and play while travelling through west central Alberta.

The course boasts mature trees, with holes nestled in between natural forests to give the illusion of a mountain-like course. The rolling hills and creeks combined with great scenery make it a pleasure to golf at any ability level.

We are currently looking to fill the roles of golf course maintenance staff to help contribute to the success of our turfcare team. This is a part time seasonal position starting in April 2024 and going until September 2024 (weather dependent)

The responsibilities of the golf course maintenance staff include but are not limited too:

• Performing routine daily tasks to assist in maintaining the golf course to the standards set by the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and Mechanic. These tasks can include operating mowing equipment, hand tools, and other golf course implements requiring physical labour. Tasks are but not limited too:
• Mowing of turfgrass on specific areas (greens, tees, fairways, rough, surrounds)
• Golf course set up (moving hole locations, setting up tee markers, emptying garbage's, raking bunkers)
• Maintenance of cart path's, bridges and other areas of the golf course property
• General landscaping duties (raking, shovelling, picking up debris)
• Any other golf course related duties as directed by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent

The ideal candidates would possess the following qualifications:

• General understanding of the game of golf, or willingness to learn
• Physically capable of walking, standing or sitting for extend periods of time, ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Ability to work early mornings, outside in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to work in a fast paced team environment, to follow written and verbal directions
• Excellent communication skills within a team, and with the general public

• Valid Alberta Drives license
• Attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond

This is a part time seasonal position with salary range starting at $17.00to $21.00. This position also offers benefits such as:

This is a part time seasonal position that would begin April 2024 depending on weather. This position is a 12 on 2 off shift, 8 hours per day (Monday-Friday) and 4 hours per day (Saturday-Sunday, STAT holidays) however overtime may be required as needed. During the golf season, the candidate would be expected to work starting at 6:00am and finishing at 2:30pm, or in conjunction with the start time set by the Superintendent.
