As a 
TV Program Scheduler
, reporting into the Manager of Program Scheduling, your role within Rogers Media will be to ensure the accurate and timely scheduling of Television Programs on a single or group of linear TV channels, while working closely with key people within the team, the department and in the Media division. We are looking for a highly skilled candidate who is well organized, has a keen eye for details, can easily multi-task, thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, shift and pivot priorities as needed and communicate clearly, while working well with others. This is a contract position: duration 18 months.
What you will do:

-The strategic scheduling of TV programs on a channel/group of channels, mainly under the Citytv and OMNI brands, which includes daily checks and may including tracking of US network schedules and coordinating with third party partners/distributors.
-The proper maintenance of TV program inventory, within the current broadcast management system, coordinating with both the Television Rights and Compliance divisions of the Programming department.
-The proper inputting and updating of TV program data into current broadcast system management system, coordinating with Traffic Log and Media Ops departments.
-The proper and timely communication of all changes to the TV schedule to internal departments, including the maintenance of seasonal TV planning templates/schedules, TV episode scheduling documents, TV broadcast grids, and weekly episode confirmations.
-Be the key contact and/or back-up for IPG/Online TV listings for a channel/group of channels, ensuring IPG/Online TV listings are accurately reflected, including daily checks, communicating with key listings contacts and follow up.
-Create/Distribute weekly advanced TV listings, primetime updates, week-after confirmation, and listings updated for changes of schedule, plus maintenance of Numeris PROL+ system, when required. Either as a lead or back-up.
-The tracking of TV schedule detail confirmations; including described video, delivery video sources, simulcast notations, TV ratings & disclaimers; and the coordination of necessary changes with the appropriate departments within the Media division.
-The management of TV program tracking documents, which may include weekly TV program highlights and TV scheduling compilations.
-The occasional reviewing, screening, paper editing of TV programs, including providing direction to internal departments, where required.
-Serve as back-up to the other members of the TV Program Scheduling team, including TV scheduling, updating documentation and possible after-hours email monitoring, when required, including vacation and illness absences.
-Additional duties, as needed.
What you will bring:

-A Broadcasting Program degree or certificate is an asset.
-1-5 years experience within the TV Broadcasting industry, with specific experience scheduling linear TV channels and/or working with TV program assets.
-The ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, shifting priorities and daily tasks when necessary.
-An extreme attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills.
-The ability to be both a team player, working closely with others daily, and work effectively and efficiently independently.
-Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new software quickly. A working knowledge of TV broadcast management systems is an asset.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English.
