Uncertified Custodians (Temporary)
Thames Valley is seeking individuals with experience and/or interest in cleaning and maintenance, caretaking, or custodial work to join the Facility Services team.
As an Uncertified Temporary Custodian, you will maintain school buildings and grounds. You will gain experience in customer service and teamwork while supporting student success. Experience and knowledge of mechanical and building operations is an asset, however, training is provided.
This temporary position offers room for growth and advancement.
We will teach you safe and effective ways to provide great spaces for staff and students. Thames Valley will also support you in achieving your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) if necessary.
To be eligible for the role of Uncertified Temporary Custodian, you must be able to carry out both verbal and written instructions. You must also be able to travel to our school sites in London, Elgin, Middlesex, and Oxford Counties. The successful candidate must be able to understand and respond to the needs of diverse school communities.
You will be required to work on an on-call basis. Hours of work are 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. but may vary depending on operational need. When school is not in session daytime hours are a possibility.
If you gain your Ontario Secondary School Diploma within twenty-four (24) months of active employment, you may be eligible for consideration for a permanent position.

Qualifications: Proof of current academic qualifications is required. If you do not have your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits), you must commit to achieving it within twenty-four (24) months of active employment. Successful candidates will achieve their Ontario Secondary School diploma in conjunction with our Adult and Continuing Education program.

Rate of Pay: $24.04 per hour + 4% vacation pay
