About the role

We’re looking for marine Conversion Underwriting Assistants to join our growing Specialty Lines.

As a marine Conversion Underwriting Assistant your work will have a big impact within our Specialty Lines department. You will deliver legendary service and play an integral role within the team by supporting Underwriters with data processing. People will count on you to process Specialty Lines risks contributing to a profitable portfolio of business.

This is a 12-month secondment or contract opportunity available in any of our West, Ontario, Quebec or Atlantic offices.

What you’ll do here:

  • Input data on our policy management system and gather information using various computer-based software programs
  • Process insurance policy drafts, lapses, and renewals
  • Provide legendary service to our Underwriters with administration to policy files
  • Other duties and tasks as required

What you bring to the table:

  • 1 year of work experience in insurance or equivalent office experience is required
  • Post secondary education is preferred
  • Insurance experience preferred
  • Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems, strong MS Excel proficiency required
  • Proficient data entry skills and high attention to detail
  • Legendary customer service and relationship building skills
  • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to prioritise work and thrive in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized to manage workflow efficiently without continuous supervision
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with a positive and solution-oriented attitude
  • Committed to self-development
