Underwriting Analyst, Inland Marine

Essential Job Functions

Master Administrative Functions which include:

• Complete RMS modeling in a timely manner when quick turnaround is required
• Create underwriting folders within 1-3 days of binding.
• Provide same day turnaround for account clearance, modeling, policy binders and additional tasks as needed.
• Be responsible for premium booking and invoicing.
• Complete policy issuance and endorsements requests with strong attention to detail.
• Organize submission information.
• Help with administrative tasks related to facultative reinsurance.
• Communicate directly with agents and brokers via email or phone.
• Independently handle loss runs, endorsement and billing requests.

Simultaneously Beginning Developing Underwriting Skills:

• Travel with Underwriters to broker/client meetings
• Assist Underwriters with file triage and underwriting
• Begin developing submission flow and relationships with broker partners in designated territory
• Proritize strong opportunities, communicate Starr’s interest and take ownership of accounts
• Begin Handling a renewal book of business

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Interest in Marketing and relationship development
• Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, RMS, Camilion and/or Lynx a plus
