Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $80,000- $110,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview
An Underwriting Fraud prevention and Risk Sharing PoolData Analyst will be responsible for identifying and solving business problems and discovering business insights using data, summary statistics and visualization to communicate their analyses on Risk Sharing Pool performance and Underwriting Fraud to technical and business audiences.
Job Responsibilities
- Extract and transform data from relevant sources and assess data quality
- Perform data analysis to generate insights, visualizations and reports for business on RSP Performance and Fraud detection
- Handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner and develop efficient and viable solutions
- Clearly document and report key projects and processes
- Commit to professional development and continuous experiential learning to build cross-functional knowledge and technical skill development
- Stay current with new tools, identification and reporting techniques on Underwriting Fraud to implement them in the organization
- Collaborating with stakeholders, identifies opportunities to improve performance for Risk Sharing Pool and internal reporting of RSP results
- Compare performance of RSP against market
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant Data Analyst experience
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, econometrics, mathematics, actuarial science, or a related quantitative field [or equivalent work experience]
- Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey complex terminology and concepts into appropriate terms for stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and part of a team environment
- Proficiency with SQL, Excel, MicroStrategy, PowerBI or other similar visualization and reporting tools
- Python, AWS and machine learning techniques knowledge an asset
- Functional knowledge of P&C/Life Insurance lines of business an asset
- Experience with Risk Sharing Pools and/or Fraud detection an asset
