Unix/Linux Support Specialist - Hybrid

Adecco is currently recruiting for a Linux Specialist. This is a 1-year Hybrid contract opportunity with a possibility of extension of up to 2 years. This role is with one of our public sector client based in Ottawa. The successful candidate must have a valid Secret level Security Clearance.

The Linux Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

• Support the Redhat Linux 8, 9 and Solaris 11 environment;

• Perform Operating System administration, maintenance, patching and hardening practices;

• Assist with the planning and execution of server installations, configuration, and tuning of Linux using Satellite and Ansible (Ansible Automation Platform)

• Assist with the development of ansible playbooks to automate every day administrative tasks

• ­Assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation (build books, operational guides, etc.)

• Other activities and deliverables, as required; 

The Linux Specialist must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Must have a university degree or diploma in Business Administration or any related field;

• A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated work experience in a Redhat Linux 7/8/9 Environment using Satellite;

• A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated work experience with Solaris 11 environment;

• Ansible Tower/Ansible Automation;

• UNIX System administration, hardware support and building (Scripting, Packaging, OpsCenter);

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Network Automation, and/or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)  (Asset);
