[Urgent] Personal Support Worker 35 Cad/Hr + Travel Fund/Accommodation

THE FACILITY LOCATION IS IN RENFREW, ON.(approximately an hour and 15-minute drive out of Ottawa)

CHOOSE BETWEEN: (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF HOTEL)

(1) ACCOMMODATION - MOTEL/HOTEL ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED

(2)A TRAVEL FUND WILL BE PROVIDED PER SHIFT WORK AMOUNTING TO 2 ADDITIONAL HOURS (e.g. 7.5hrs + 2hrs TRAVEL FUND.)

Requirements:

• Completed Application form and Data Collection Form
• Proof of Citizenship, Immigration or Work Visa
• RPN License or Registration with the CNO
• Vulnerable Sector - Criminal Record Check (within 6 months)
• CPR Certification
• Vaccinations Records including: 2-STEP TB Test, MMR, Varicella, Hep B.
• Influenza Vaccine (optional but recommended)
• Mask Fit Test (Can be done at the facility)
• SURGE Learning Education/Certification (Will be done with 48 hours after orientation)
• WHMIS, Food Handlers Certificate, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities

Job Description:

• Working with elderly patients and assisting with all aspects of personal care including transfers, mobility assistance, baths, oral hygiene, meal assistance, bed-making and light housekeeping.
• Ensuring the fulfillment of individual goals and needs as instructed in the patient’s care plan and under the direction of a registered nursing staff.
• Assisting patients with everyday leisure activities.
• Promoting the health, safety, welfare, and independence of all patients.
• Assisting to fulfill the social and emotional needs of a patient.
• Proper documentation of pertinent patient information regarding daily care, intake and output, behavioural changes, etc. All within the scope of practice of a Personal Support Worker.
• Adhering to the occupational health and safety regulations set by the assigned long-term care facility and the province of Ontario.
• Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and guidelines of the assigned long-term care facility and conduct oneself professionally and respectfully with the other members of the facility.
• As a healthcare agency staff, ensure compliance with proper integration and assistance to a long-term care facility experiencing significant staff shortages and advocate oneself to higher standard of holistic nursing care.
