UTILITIES SUPERVISOR
The Job
Our incredible team at the Town of Edson is looking for a Utilities Supervisor to join our community- motivated organization. This role is responsible for leading a team of skilled professionals in the delivery of high-quality and dependable water and wastewater services.
The Candidate
We are looking for a leader to manage the Town’s water and wastewater facilities. It is critical for the candidate to have the organizational and technical competency to oversee this municipal infrastructure and its maintenance. Proven leadership skills and political acumen are necessary in this role.
In addition to the above, we require applicants to possess:
- Certification in Water and Wastewater Operators Certificate Program, Alberta Environment –
- Level I Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment and Level II Water Distribution andWastewater Collection, or equivalent certification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or manager-level position.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Water and Sewer systems management is preferable.
- Proficient and knowledgeable on all Regulatory legislation that pertains to Utilities and Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure management, maintenance, planning, and operation.
- Creativity and innovativeness; ability to continually improve services and processes in the face of new circumstances, evolving priorities, and resource constraints.
- Ability to handle a variety of complex projects/tasks with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
- Ability to work flexible hours, as required.

What do we offer?
Compensation
The wage range for this position is $71,600 to $90,300 per year, however, this is negotiable for the right candidate. Candidate placement within the range during the first six months on the job is dependent on experience and available budget.
