Utility Forestry Technician

We are currently looking for field technicians to assess vegetation along utility right-of-ways. Communication skills are a must as consultations with municipalities and landowners regarding proposed work will be required. Individuals who apply will be required to travel throughout the province of Alberta and will be okay with working outdoors year round. All applicants must be self-motivated with a positive attitude as they will be working independently.

Requirements:

Experience in one of the following: arboriculture, forestry, electrical utility, reclamation and environmental studies or Registered RPFT, RPF or Utility Arborist designation

Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Driven/Motivated

Can Work Alone Without Supervision

Assets:

Previous Patrolling experience

GIS experience

Standard First Aid/CPR & H2S/Snowmobile/UTV/ATV Certifications

Herbicide Application Experience

AB pesticide applicators certificate

This position is a full time position with room for advancement. All company expenses and accommodations are covered alongside a living out allowance paid daily.

Wages are based on experience and are a flat day rate paid out on the basis of 10 hour shifts.

Company vehicle will be supplied and a driving abstract will be required.
