Position Overview
This important role will involve, planning and organizing daily crew activities, ensuring the timely completion and submission of all applicable paperwork, assessing crew performance, managing production and quality control, ongoing field training and development of employees, to provide an excellent client experience.
Job Duties
- Safely and efficiently lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
- Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks.
- Support customer service expectations.
- Travel
- To various sites and meet with clients and operations teams.
- Occasional overnight travel to support new business initiatives or remote projects.
- Provides line clearing and tree trimming services for utility customers.
- Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
- Provide guidance and work scheduling for daily/weekly/monthly operations.
- Ensure proper maintenance, preparation, and operation of all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more by the crews.
- Responsible for ensuring proper job site set up, clean up.
- Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in utility vegetation management or similar arboriculture or industry experience.
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role, including work planning and execution, employee development and performance assessment.
- I.S.A., C.U.A or equivalent designation considered an asset.
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement is considered an asset.
- Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.
